Custom Kitchen Renovation

Project: Kitchen Renovation
Suburb: Olinda
Builder: Optimum Renovations

After making the decision to renovate their dated kitchen our Olinda clients had a few basic requirements for the renovation. The previous design had the Butler’s Pantry being entered in off a hallway that lead through to their garage which was just too far from the kitchen work area, especially as the old kitchen had no island bench either, just an extremely large open space in the middle of this very generous kitchen floorplan. The old dark coloured timber doors and terracotta coloured floor tiles also made the room feel quite dark and depressing even with the abundance of natural light they had available.

Working with Daniel Jeffery of Optimum Renovations we made the decision to make some structural changes to the room, making it possible to create a new entrance from the kitchen area into their Butler’s Pantry, utilising the old hallway for a new double fridge recess and storage cabinet accessible from their garage. Another entrance was then made into the garage from an old utility room next to the kitchen that also had access to their newly renovated laundry and rear door.

Not only is their new Butler’s Pantry now more practical from the kitchen area, it’s been made a real feature of the room with the use of a custom made Centor A6 sliding door system, powder coated black. Williams Cabinets then made a custom made oversized sliding door to our client’s specification, finished in the same Polyurethane finish as the rest of their kitchen cabinets.

The kitchen features Albedor ‘Sheree’ profiled doors, finished in Dulux Whitsunday Satin Polyurethane with the clients own choice of knobs. 20mm Caesarstone Frosty Carrina was used for the perimeter benchtop featuring an Undermount fireclay sink and the same colour top was used for the island benchtop but finished with a 60mm edge detail. The Butler’s Pantry, although finished with the same 20mm Caesarstone benchtop made use of Polytec’s White Cotton melamine doors for a simple clean look, all enhanced by the use of integrated LED strip lighting to the bottom of the overheads.

Blum Antaro soft close runners and soft close hinges are used throughout this renovation, with added extras of the Hafele One2Five bin system, Kessebohmer Le-Mans II corner unit and Blum Orgaline cutlery and utensil inserts.
